What a fool. I wonder if he would find the front wheel "out of date" ? My wife rides an old Campy record hi-flange front wheel along with her rear Shimano cassette wheel (she likes STI). They both go, on the average, about the same speed with the same effort. And the Campy front will NEVER become obsolete as Shimano changes the parameters for cassettes.

If only we could stop the move to MTB head tubes on road bikes.
