Chas:

Don't bend the tabs!!!

Carefully clamp the pad in the vise as close to the holder as possible (gripping the top and the bottom of the pad). Clamp down hard on the pup, and you can remove the holder by hand usually. this ruins the pad, but you were going to pitch it anyways, right?

Regards,

Greg Parker

RE: [Classicrendezvous] Pesky Campagnolo brake pad installation

It's embarrassing to admit this. but after all these years I have yet to develop a good way to remove worn-out Campagnolo brake pads from the standard Record brake-pad holders. There must be a method that doesn't involve bending the tabs on the holder--what's worked for you? I have some of those nice Kool Stop replica pads I want to install, but I can't get the old ones out!

Thanks for any help you can provide.
