Subject: [Classicrendezvous] Threading on Track Hubs

I have a couple of track bikes which have been little used in recent years, but I plan to use them on rollers this winter and on the road next spring. They were bought as complete bikes, with spare cogs of the same brand, so I haven't had to deal with threading issues much before. I want to be sure I don't ruin any threads in changing ratios using newer cogs. Sutherland's, my usual fount of knowledge, gives but little info about track threading except to say that for the LH threaded lockring there is a French thread, an English thread, and a different Campy thread. How many other manufacturers used the Campy lockring thread? Specifically, I have a mid-80's Criterium-quality Zeus Pista gruppo on a Romic track bike. Would this be likely to use a Campy-thread lockring? Did ISO adopt English or Campy lockring thread? As to actual cog threading, am I correct in assuming that cogs can have French, English or Italian thread and that the cog threads on track hubs are the same dimensions as the threading on the corresponding freewheel hub? Did ISO adopt essentially the English thread as with freewheels? Is using English or ISO cogs on older Italian threaded hubs more dangerous than is the case with freewheels? Thanks in advance.
