If the hanger is simply removed it will fit into an older style Simplex or Cyclo rear end with built-in derailleur hanger. It will not fit without modification to the hanger Campagnolo or similar style dropouts. Neither will I think it fit some 70s style Simplex dropouts with unthreaded hangers though I'm not quite so sure about that. Hilary Stone
