Lee points out the difference..

SLX and TSX are exactly the same except for TSX's full length long ribbing in 2 tubes, top & down.

No heat treating at all from Columbus until much later...

There was a Nuovo SLX set introduced a few years back that supposedly had shorter butts and was aimed at (surprise!) Tig welding...
