TV Lenny of American TV in Madison, Wisconsin gave Firenzes away with purchases of about $100 or more in the early 80's..... (they were usually red)

RE: [Classicrendezvous] Firenze bicycle?

Question: What quality are Firenze framesets? I rescued a Firenze GL5000 from the dumpster. It has low quality lugged tubing, one set of bottle bosses. Appears to be a 80s style set up. It has a little 5000 etched in the top of the seatstay near the seat lug. Decals say 1010 tubing, and also "made for Firenze of Wisconsin" It is is remarkably good shape. No dents or dings and rather clean. Anyone heard of this...anyone, anyone,
