Subject: [Classicrendezvous] Converting track bike to clincher tyres

I own two Paramounts of 70's vintage. One is road and the other track. The road bike is currently equipped with clincher tyres and I would like to use them on the track bike. The front clincher will work just fine but of course, there are problems with the rear. I'm wondering what my options are.

The spacing of the rear road wheel seems just right for the track bike. Is a track cluster available that would fit in place of the current 6 speed rear road cluster? Or, should I consider having a whole new rear clincher wheel built for the track bike? Maybe, my best option is simply resigning myself to using the original tubular wheel in the rear which is equipped with a 16 cog single freewheel.

I know a lot of the group are fond of the old tubulars but to me, there's nothing like the reliability of good clincher tyres. Thanks in advance for any suggestions the group may have. Leon Lants (partly sunny in Kansas City & Blue Springs, MO)
