You could possibly pick one particular brand and do this but going from top of the line to bottom might still confuse things. What you describe above wouldn't apply at my house(74-80 Raleighs) Ex: The cheaper 77 SuperCourse has more braze-ons than the 80 CompGS. Derailleur cables are all top of bottom bracket.
