Subject: [Classicrendezvous] About me and Parts Wanted

Hello all. This is my introduction message to Classic Rendezvous. Thanks for having me! When I was at high school in the early eighties I worked in a bike shop in Palmerston North New Zealand. I came to admire the racing bikes I would sell and work on, but couldn't afford. So this year I decided to build up my own early 80s Italian racing bike. I've almost finished. I have a 1982 Colnago Mexico frame (from Holland, never been ridden) and a groupset of late Campy Super Record stuff to put on it (New in the boxes from a bikeshop here in NZ). It is a beautiful frame! I have a few Parts Wanted: SUPER RECORD SEATPOST 27.2 (the one I have is in its box and is a 26.2). Selle San Marco CONCOR SADDLE (got a couple of leads on one of these). I want some CAMPY CABLE OUTERS that are BLACK - brake cable outers as well as for the rear derrailler. The ones with the brakeset are gray and won't look any good on the bike! Also need a CHAIN that is suitable and I'm not really sure what I'm looking for. If anyone knows... Someone is trying to sell me a Campy seatpost from that time. It is a track post - looks like a different angle on the head of it? Will this work for me? Also I'm not sure if the post I'm being sold is Super Record or Nuovo Record. What is the difference, does anyone know? In fact the post that came with my gruppo says "Nuovo Reggisella Super Record" on the box - so that is confusing! The bike I ride everyday is a 1990 Cannondale with Dura Ace, so it is not really very exciting. If anyone knows where I can get hold of a black brake lever hood for 1990 Dura Ace, I'd be grateful. It's harder to get than 1980 Campy! Thanks for listening. signed, Jon Bridges.
