Alas, there is no serial number scheme that makes sense with Peugeot numbers on the riveted plates. As David G. and I learned when we were gathering material for the site, the numbers make no sense whatsoever on riveted plate bikes from 1970-78. We encountered bikes with low no. rivet plates and decals, etc., from 1978 or so, and bikes with pre 1975 decals and much higher numbers. It's sort of like Fender guitars - stamp lots of plates, put them in bins, and affix by grabbing one out of the pile.

It may help to check out http://www.iag.net/~davidg/PX10.htm ... David has done an incredible job of adding information and ferreting out cool pix, etc.

Good luck! Russ Fitzgerald rfitzger@emeraldis.com Greenwood, SC
