Thanks to everyone for accepting my explanation and supporting me, particularly Ken Toda, who would have had every reason to be deeply and personally offended, had the post been genuine. I turns out I was not the victim of a sinister plot, but of an ill-considered joke gone wrong. A list member who I will not name forwarded this to Ken Denny as a joke, thinking he would recognize it as such, given the April Fools Day date. Unfortunately, Ken took it for real, and understandably upset, posted the message this morning. The person in question is extremely regretful over the whole thing and has apologized to me and to Dale. I know the person involved is neither racist nor malicious, and I've accepted the apology. So let's get back to classic bikes, shall we?
