Joe, Tom should be familiar with Swiss thread, as he sold me a Swiss threaded 1969 Allegro Special earlier this year. I repacked the HS, and this bike, at least, does indeed have a French HS. But I didn't change the original stem, so I had no reason to measure it. Do Swiss bikes with French HS thread really have 22.2 stems? Anyone else encountered this? I guess I just assumed they would be 22.0. I'm going to pull out the trusty calipers and check the Allegro. By the way Spanish bikes (at least Zeus) with French HSs seem to have 22.0 stems as expected, at least based on my sample of three Zeus bikes or the stems from them.

Regards,

Jerry Moos
