One thing I find interesting is that the United States has a very large amount of Japanese art. Porcelain, paintings, bronzes etc. We (Americans) acquired much of this in the last thirty to forty years. Sometimes the Japanese have to look to the United States to find excellent examples of art that originated in there country. I guess it goes both ways. In this case its bicycles.
