Subject: [CR]"Plum" bike?

I'm pretty new to road cycling, so the origins of all these beautiful underappreciated bikes are mysterious to me. I have two older bikes. The first is an Apollo Club Tourist. It didn't let me down on the Icefields Parkway from Jasper to Banff, and every time I commute to work, I want to keep riding right past the front door and down the road.

The other is a 700c Plum Vainqueur, with Cinelli bar/stem, Modolo Speedy brakes, Battaglin or Gipiemme drivetrain, matching frame pump, and diamond-shaped cutouts in the lugs and bottom bracket. It's fairly obviously Italian, but other than that I have no idea where it came from or how old it is, and I'm really curious. All I know is that it is a dream to ride. Does anyone have insights on this one?
