Subject: [Classicrendezvous] Omas/Colnago relationship

Has anybody ever wondered why Colnago spec'd so much Omas componentry on their bikes during those years. Colnago routinely contracted Omas to provide headsets, bbs, and hubs, with colnago logos. And these components appeared on SOME of Colnago's super high end models. (gold plated Mexico's, pantographed Mexicos/Supers, Oval CX, etc.). Personally, I admire Omas for innovation, but execution was not up to Campagnolo quality.

Another small but interesting question: Does anybody know if there was a direct relationship with Omas and Cobra? Both companies provided ultra light Campagnolo replacement parts of aluminum and titanium. These small parts were identical between the two companies. I do know that Cobra made, and still does, virtually all of Campagnolo's tools. So I'm guessing that Cobra made these small parts for Omas. But that doesn't sound like a smart business decision. Anyone out there know any facts pertaining to this?
