Another list member and I turned off a Sun. morning repeat of "Breaking Away", braved cold damp weather and Thanksgiving weekend traffic to explore the late framebuilder Maclean Fonvielle's old stomping grounds this morning. We parked in the old mill town of Saxapahaw, the address of his workshop and rode to Silk Hope and back.
The rural roads are excellent and we would like to suggest it as a possible Sat. ride for early arrivals for the 2001 Cirque. Dale, do you know any more of his choice of Silk Hope as his original brand name?
