I just came into possession of a 55 red Merckx SL frame (c. 1983?) w/ a chrome Colnago fork and an old 105 h.s. From 5 feet the bike looks super. The fork appears to be there because of a crash as the down tube has a small dimple under the lug near the head tube. I need the parts on the bike, but not the frame. It would make a wonderful winter bike. The guy who had it never knew about the crash and says that the bike road great, with or without hands.
I will be happy to give this frame away for some small, reasonable, trade items. I could use a Campy NR or SR headset, similar pedals, leather covered seat (1980s), or....
