I don't buy anything that I can't ride. I've passed up some nice bikes because of that. Where is the joy in just looking at it? Not to say I don't enjoy looking too! The bikes I ride are dependent on: 1) weather forecast, 2) roads I think I'll be riding (in PA this IS a consideration!) Nice day, nice roads, nice bike. Crappy weather, crappy roads, I take a bike that I can stand to abuse a little. Everyone has a beater, right? That's how I see it at least.
