Since we're on a thread of stems (ok, not AVA this time), I'm hoping someone has some info on a really neat stem I have which I've never seen nor heard of before.

It is aluminium, faux lugged stem - very fancy Nervex Pro'ish style, cast stem, finely polished and chromed nutted quill bolt, hollow back, with a vertical hbar clamp bolt. There is also some fancy cast in flowing artistic raised lines from the hbar clamp bolt over the clamp area and forming a rearward facing spear on the side (wish I had access to a digital camera right now as my description probably has you dizzy - sorry!) The clamp bolt, rather then having a normal round/keyed end or hex end, has a very finely cast shield with large "C" with a smaller "P" in the center and "CAMINADE" cast along the bottom of the sheild edge. Cast into each side of the stem is "CAMINARGENT" and "BIS SGDG." The quill portion outer diameter measures 21.76mm and the hbar clamping area measures 25.19mm.

What do I have (answers other then "a fancy old stem" would be appreciated)?

Thanks in advance,

Eric Elman
