For those who don't know the marque, "Louison Bobet" was the private label import of Gene Portuesi's CycloPedia. Portuesi coached the US Olympic team (1936?), and put out a nice catalog. For those of us stranded in places like Houston in the 60s, it was the mail-order Mecca. I was fortunate to be able to visit him near the end, in Cadillac, Michigan, and he was a very gracious host.

I never owned a Bobet, but there are still lots of memories. I believe, but cannot verify, that all Bobets were Meerciers.
