Dale will get a particular twang of pain from this. Not a classic story, but a pertinent one indeed...

I need to preface this by saying my girlfriend is the most organized, responsible person on the fact of the earth. But, she's human. She left my house yesterday after a brisk ride up PCH and back and plopped her Landshark in the back of the car. On the way home, she stopped off to buy a XMAS tree, moved the bike to the roof rack, and shoved the tree in the back where the bike was. I think you may know where this is going...

Well....she forgot about the bike when she (ouch) pulled in the garage. Her beautiful, 11 month old robin egg's blue with pearl Landshark ripped in two, the head tube separating from the rest of the frame. Reynolds 853 or no, it's no match for a 4 x 12 beam.

Needless to say, she is beside herself. Thank God, she's covered for this on her homeowners policy and she has a Curtlo to ride in the meanwhile as John Slawta replaces her munched bike.

Many of us have been at the same place she was yesterday, but I'm it still hurt reading this.

BEWARE OF ROOF RACKS! They're deadly beasts.
