Subject: [CR]FS: one-of-a-kind Schwinn Paramount frame/fork (PDG/Waterford)

For Sale:

Highly unusual Schwinn PDG/Paramount frame/fork from the mid 1980s. 56cm c-t 55cm c-c. Touring geometry with long chainstays, long wheelbase, interesting fork-bend, and cantilever mounts brazed-on. Has three pairs of water-bottle braze-ons and fittings for a rear rack. Top-tube cable-guide braze-ons. Campagnolo drop-outs with eyelets front and rear. Long rear drop-outs. Campagnolo Record steel headset. English-threaded Cinelli cast bb shell, and what appear to be Henry James lugs. Columbus tubing. All original finish and decals with chromed right chain-stay. Medium solid blue paint (really pretty color, and a very good paint-job) in near-new condition, very little wear. Light pitting on the chainstay chrome.

This may be the only PDG touring frame ever made. All the others I've seen were racing frames.

This frame is very much like a Rivendell long-low. I'm guessing it was built by Waterford: whoever built it did a *very* tasty job. Word was, when I bought it, that it was a one-of-a-kind custom job for a Schwinn executive.

I hate to sell it, but I'll never get it together: I picked up another touring frame recently that fits me better, so, this one goes.

No photos yet, but soon. If it doesn't sell here, it's on to ebay.

$425 shipped via USPS priority, and I'll throw in a very nice set of NOS Kalloy/Dia-Comp cantilever brakes, complete with everything but the levers and control cables.

E-mail me at chasds@mindspring.com if you're interested.
