I got a set of Sunshine high flange hubs in a box of misc parts, and am thinking of building them up. However I remember hearing some negative info about the flanges of some Japanese high flangers. Is there a problem with the Sunshine high flange hubs? Is there a spoke gauge or cross pattern to alleviate the problem?
On a related note, what is the collective group wisdom on the best touring rim? Are Sun CR 18's good and reliable? they are substantially lighter than most other 24 mm rims. Other nominees for best touring rim? I'd love the Ritchy Rock OCR, but it doesn't come in 36.
