Sorry, Lou, so is "fanny" where I come from. If you tried shouting that in a mall in Scotland you might possibly cause a riot and certainly get arrested.
Dale might want to come in on this but my understanding is that guests from all over the world can warm their bums at the fireplace in his front room. A word acceptable in one language might not necessarily be so in another.
To explain, in American English everyone can park their fanny on a Hetchins but in English English only the ladies can. Scottish women of a certain age and disposition might swoon at seeing the "F" word in print.(The reference to a "Hetchins" just keeps this post on topic, I hope.)
