If I recall correctly, the Ideale 2001 was unpadded; the 2002 was the same saddle with a layer of padding. Further, Ideale offered both saddles with titanium rails in the 1970's. I remeber stopping at the Cyclopedia ,when it was located in Cadillac, Michigan, in 1977, and talking to the owner, Gene Portuesi about these saddles. The conversation was basically me asking him, "Can you get the ti-railed saddles?" To which Mr. Portuesi responded, "Probably, but why? Who needs that sort of silly saving?"
