While I am not certain if Vitus made the frame in question for Peugeot, Peugeot DID outsource the carbon fiber frame that superceded it. That frame was manufactured for Peugeot under contract by Zodiac in France (yes, the makers of the inflatable rafts). Peugeot did the "design and engineering" but left the actual construction to Zodiac. I have a friend who works for Zodiac here in the US and obtained a couple of these frames for his own use during their production run. By that time, Peugeot had already pulled out of the US market. The scuttlebutt on the frames was that the earlier ones had spotty problems (my friends example eventually had the chainstays pull out from the BB), but that the problems had been resolved by the later production. Indeed, my friends second frame is still seeing daily use by his wife, having served a long life-especially for a carbon frame. Steve Spielman Maryland
