Folks;

Peter suggested that the Specialized banana frame balance display at Interbike was faked with non-banana material under the skin. I thought the display was pretty incredible when I saw the picture, but then my co-worker and fellow bike aficianado opened his lunch bag and put a banana on our postal scale: it weighed 8.5 oz. So multiply that by 4.5 and I get 38.25 oz. which is about 2.39 pounds. That is light, but probably not beyond belief for a bare frame with no fork. Seems like several manufacturers have been claiming 2.5 pound frames lately. Would petrified bananas weigh less or more than fresh ones (wondering why the bananas would have felt so hard)?
