Not to venture off topic, but the Street Rodding (modified street cars) world refers to an older car that is built to look restored but have modernized running gear, suspension, upholstery and electronics hidden underneath, as a "Resto-rod". So, can this term, or something similar, be applied to bicycles? I call my modernized '39 Schwinn with mixed era components (60's and newer) a "beach cruiser", not a "Hot Rod", but it really is a modernized bicycle in very much the same manner as a Hot Rod or Street Rod, but without the added horsepower. How about a Resto-ride or a Resto-cycle? Just kidding around. My cruiser is my cruiser, and I really don't have a Rivendell style bike. I just have at least one bike for almost every decade since 1888, and they are what they are, and nothing else.
