Subject: [CR]Diadora classic (sorta) shoe

My LBS, knowing my vintage addiction, showed me a catalog with a new Diadora shoe , the Voyager.. It's advertised as a touring shoe. The shoe is primarily a SPD shoe, but the sole is fairly flat and free of off road gonzo mud gripping lugs so it might work acceptably with clips and straps while still being a decent walker. Anyone have any experience with this baby? Is the sole stiff enough for riding comfort? Is the sole too thick to fit comfortably into clips? Is there any pattern on the sole to engage a pedal cage? I ask because my Cannondale cleat shoes probably won't last another season, and I'm looking for a good toe clip shoe.
