Ideale had an answer to the Brooks Campagnolo saddle - the 88C (full flaps) and 89C (cutaway flaps) with long fore/aft adjustment. The saddles had a longer than usual looking nose and really beautiful shape with a neat serial number stamped in the namebadge above the makers name. Also, the rails were fastened to the cantleplate by aspring-loaded bolt in the center. Pretty nice way of allowing for complete disassembly and refinishing without having to re-rivet the thing back together. I have a neat example of this saddle with an alloy cantle plate (only one I've ever seen, including catalogs). There is a neat Rebour drawing of this and other Ideale models in early Ron Kitching catalogs (available at http://www.velo_retro.com).
