I have some Sampson experience; customers, not my own. Incurable creaking noises, lots of flex, some unconfirmed rumors of breakage. If by "racing triple" you mean recent Campy, they have extremely wide lateral spacing from pedal to pedal--I had a set but sold them due to knee and hip discomfort. Try to get a long testride on a bike with one before you buy one. DF
