Subject: [CR]What type of shimano shifter am I?

Here's the question: What type of Shimano shifter am I? I am friction and sit upon the top on the downtube. I am attached to the downtube using a clamp. I have the word Shimano written on each of my shifters with little unusual etchings and designs upon each also. Who am I? This is really a question I have not a game! I stripped down a trashed (frame bent and broken)old Raleigh that I located in a local landfill yesterday while Mt Biking (see, here's a benefit to those mountain bikes, access to the local landfills). It had these shifters and few other usable items so I tossed the bike upon my shoulder and biked homeward in the snow. The shifters are in outstanding shape. Just curious what type they are. The bike frame itself had a bicycle sticker on the seattube from Pittsburgh with a date of 1978 or 1979 if this helps to date the frame. Couldn't quite make out the last date nember real clear because the last number was scratched up pretty bad. Any help would be appreciated. Once again, Thanks
