Walter: Your description sounds like some earlier Shimano 600 shifters from the late 70's or early 80's. They had fancy filigree embossing cast or stamped into the shifters & derailleurs. I remember assembling and selling some Miyata 912's that came equipped with this group at around the same time that Shimano introduced the Dura Ace AX line. They're really nice looking. Wish I had held onto some back then, but I don't know what I would do with them right now.
