Guess I was being a little kind to Heron, I hadn't priced out Mercian options, but I was pretty sure you could get a very nice one for not much more than $1000. Your experience with Mercian makes the Heron price increase look like even more of a problem. Of course, not everyone will order a bike from UK, but the internet, toll free numbers, global acceptance of major credit cards, and global reach of parcel services make this a practical option for anyone who wants to pursue it.
