Never one to let sleeping dogs lie... The shifter that I had in mind was the one as shown on the Bianchi, complete with the curvy shape, and this model was available mounted with a clamp atop the downtube. However, this is definately not the 600, or the 600EX. It may be the 600 AX, but as I recall that one was shaped like the Dura Ace AX, which was something like an upside down Campy Retrofriction (barrel that wraps cable was above the centerline of the lever). I think the lever in the photo was called 105.
