Perhaps Fiorelli built the Coppi bikes... please see the Italian site for Fiorelli:

http://www.retecivica.novi-ligure.al.it/fiorelli.html

which I translate as:

<<"Rinaldo Fiorelli accompanies Ole Ritter on a visit to his company. The photo is from the period when the Danish racer came to Italy in order to layout the designs for " Germanvox-Wega ", equipped by this Novese (from Novi-Ligure) company.

The company was started in 1932 on Ugo Foscolo by the brothers Rinaldo, Mario and Lino Fiorelli. Initially this Novese company constructed racing frames, but very soon moved on to building complete bikes for racers, then went on to build touring bikes.

"Fiorelli" also sponsored a team, with Ferdy Kubler, Jean Robic and Ugo Koblet.

Eventually the bikes of these brothers from Novi equipped the Spanish "Ignis" team, leading to the "Ignis-Fiorelli" team, with the same Ferdy Kubler, Ruiz, and Miguel Poblet.

In order to remain involved in racing, "Fiorelli" supplied bikes to "Gazzola" (with Gaul, Alexander Fantini, Pettinati and Bruno Landi); "Filotex" (Bitossi); "Germanvox-Wega"; "Zonca" (Gianni Motta and Pierino Gavazzi); and "Carpano-Coppi".

Thirty percent of production was destined for the foreign market, including all of the United States of America.

For many years "Fiorelli" included in its line "Fausto Coppi". After a period of collaboration with il Campionissimo, and for some time after with his widow, they produced the famous "Coppi" brand.

Recently, the head officials of the company decided to abandon production, yielding the legendary name "Coppi" to the Masciaghi brothers.>>

For the new Coppi bikes history, see:

Hope this helps.

Hi guys Í picked up a Coppi decaled frame recently, Campag long d/outs, but the rest of it is a little 'clunky' for my taste. Looks genuine as far as the decals go. Probably 60's? Any ideas, please, on who would have made this etc? Clive in Oz
