>Caution: Post midnight shift babble ahead!< My black Competition GS is probably going to get chrome fenders most likely. Just seems like the thing to do, Black and Chrome: can't get enough! That champagne color is a tough one, for me at least. Are the lugs chrome? What color is the headtube? Seems like that might influence my own color selection. If you don't like chrome, maybe a deep burgundy, or chestnut brown with matching bar tape (maybe headtube too) to tie the fender color to the bike? See this Blue Streak for another idea, though not "correct" for an International if that's a consideration: http://www.cyclesdeoro.com/Ral_Bl_Streak.html

This may sound a little off the wall but GM is overly fond of "two-toning" their pickups, if you start paying attention you'll see some odd combinations of Pewter or Sandstone (closest match to champagne) with other mostly dark colors. (GM stylists seem to think we all want dark or earth-tones.) Might see something you like.

Maybe your LBS has some fenders hiding? Any shop can get Esge's(now SKS?) but I don't think they're what you want. A thrift shop might also provide a suitable donor bike. Any list members have pictures up with fendered bikes? I was surprised at how few bikes on the Rivendell site actually had fenders. Apparently not everyone was buying into Grant's fender pitch. Does seem like a natural thing to have on a AR or an Atlantis.
