Carl, for further info, you really should check out the RetroRaleighs website at:

They have Raleigh catalogs from the early 60's to the late 70's. Oddly, there is no Competition in the 1972 catalog. The Competition MkII, which is the one I and others spoke of with Huret Jubilee/TA 3 arm/Normandy/ Weinmann 999, appears in the 1973 catalog, but only in black and chrome. I suspect yours is earlier than 1973, perhaps 1972 as you think, despite not appearing in the catalogs. We have all learned that catalogs are often neither complete nor accurate.
