Group-- Now that this issue has sort of died, it's probably time for me to jump into the ring. I'm 63 and fading fast. Have been interested in bikes forever, first one was a Black Phantom that I trashed. Early 70's got a Schwinn Sports Tourer for $210 ( why would anybody pay $325 for a Paramount?--it didn't even have a kickstand!). Built up a Super Record Austro-Daimler Ultima in the early 80"s, and went completly nuts about 6 years ago and have never quite been the same.

Currently have 7 Paramounts ( one '38 Track), 3 Sports Tourers and a early 60's Continental. Spain is represented by a Zeus Track machine. Italy by '60, '67 and '72 Cinelli's, an '80s Colnago, and a mid-'60's Ideor-Asso. Frenchies are a Gitane Td'F, Motobecane GT, a mid '70's Singer, and a mid 50's Urago.

The rest of the collection is English: a '50 Straight Hetchins, '70ish Curly, (both Magnum Opii) a MacLean Appollo, a basic Mercian, a Pro and a Vincetori, '70ish Raleigh Track, '48 Ellis-Briggs, 2 Galibiers, a '48 Rensch Td'F, '48 Waller, '48 Carlton, mid '60s Carlton, and a 70's Roberts, '80s Condor, and a Mark III Moulton. One third of all of these are "in process".

Also included is a '50 Norwegian wife (who rides a 66cm Bianchi) and is not really pleased about the above mentioned habit. I am an architect who quit (not retired) a few years ago. We both are rowers and are still competing, so we don't ride as much as we would like 'cause we're tired all the time. All of the frames are 24" to 26"--- I derive most of my enjoyment from the habit by scrounging wierd, esoteric parts and building them into a working device, while meeting a lot of nice folks along the way. Sorry to go on for so long-- I really enjoy the CR group! Cheers---

Nelson Miller in moderately damp Seattle.

It would be interesting (to me at least) to know what the average age of the list members is. Dave (60)Van Hook Hershey (really, really foggy) PA
