Subject: [CR]Teledyne Titan Equipment

I just bought the Teledyne Titan that Brian Blum had posted for a friend (thanks Brian). It is currently set up for touring with fenders, rack, generator lights and a TA triple. However, I have several bikes better suited to touring/commuting/audex, including a Follis I had bought from Brian himself. I'll probaby rebuild the Titan for racing (or at least training). I'm thinking of retaining the original old Phil BB and hubs, but going to Phil pedals, Superbe derailleurs, Avocet(Ofmega) cranks, original DuraAce sidepulls, but I wonder how period correct this would be. Anyone remember exactly what years the Teledyne was made? I seem to remember seeing them among the spectators at the 1974 World Championships on Montreal, and "The Custom Bicycle" implies they weren't made for more than a few years, so they may have been history by 1980. For early/mid 70's the DA brakes and maybe the Phil pedals would be period, but Berto says the Superbe gruppo was introduced in 1977, and the Titan may have been gone by then. The Avocet crank is one I bought in the early 80's, so it is probably a bit too new also. Any advice?

Regards,
