Two things I know about Sheffield:

1) The original pedals on both of my '59 Bianchi Competizione's are Sheffield brand, chrome-plated steel.

2) On my newly acquired '52 (?) Dunelt 4-spd. (internal) "roadster", at the forward-top end of the top-tube, there is a decal that says "RIDE AWHEEL WITH SHEFFIELD STEEL." Which I believe means that the frame is made largely from sheffield steel.

So, I believe Sheffield was into bicycle frame tubing and materials, as well as components. Can anyone elaborate more?
