Group-- I replied directly to Dave, now I'll give it to the group! Sheffield pedals were made in Italy, probably by Italians, Saaanjay bikes were made in France by an Englishman named Singer, and the Paris bikes were made in England by a German named Rensch. Don't exactly know where this leads us. Cheers -- Nelson

Two things I know about Sheffield:

1) The original pedals on both of my '59 Bianchi Competizione's are Sheffield brand, chrome-plated steel.

2) On my newly acquired '52 (?) Dunelt 4-spd. (internal) "roadster", at the forward-top end of the top-tube, there is a decal that says "RIDE AWHEEL WITH SHEFFIELD STEEL." Which I believe means that the frame is made largely from sheffield steel.

So, I believe Sheffield was into bicycle frame tubing and materials, as well as components. Can anyone elaborate more?
