I believe the previous Stronglight models 49, 57, and 63 were named for their years of introduction, but the mod 93 was not. Sloan's classic Complete Book of Bicycling, copyrighted in 1970, still lists the mod 63 among the specs of the Peugeot PX-10, but I had a PX-10 which I'm pretty sure was 1967 or 1968 with an original model 93. I would guess the mod 93 came out in the late 60's. I believe the Nervar Star came out about the same time. BTW, there is another Nervar model, identical to the Star except that the outer circle is the very small TA Cyclotourist/ Stronglight 49 one - this model may be significantly older.
