Mega thanks for all who gave me great info regarding my restoration of Windser Pro.

I am quite surprised that the economy Mexican bike came with such TOP notch parts.

The complete bike kit with wheels etc. was cheaper to the dealer than a Campagnolo NR groupo at the time (before1980 as I recall). It was more than a good buy and the frame was pretty OK; no Confente but it's possible he supervised construction on occasion. I can only speculate. And it rode good too! >>

This talk brings another wonder of mine; for restrtion of a vintage light weight bike which is more important, having a quality "frame" and ride, or having as exact as possible original parts or better ones to make up a fine bike.

I am not sure, a fine bike come from PARTS first, or a fine FRAME first. then parts are just accessories to the frame??

Although there is a problem, there are hundreds of choices in FRAME, but there are very few choices in fine PARTS.

I was going to use Mafac centerpull brakes, and Campy Tipo(Gransports) L/F hub, GB stem, Stronglight cranks. All those are NOT going to be on my Windser-Pro this time. Thanks to all informations from list members.
