Subject: [CR]Statement of action taken by CR List manager

I regret to inform the CR membership that one of our members has been removed from the list. I am really saddened at being put in the position to have to take this severe action. It has only happened on one other occasion and that was an extremely unpleasant situation as well.

In this case the member was extremely abusive to another member and I simply will not tolerate that. I would not stand for it in my home, in my business nor on this list. Many of you I have come to know through the CR list are some of the most bright, helpful, generous and, yes, noble people I have had the honor to meet. I will not allow anyone to damage that relationship, at least so long as is in my power. I also know that mutual respect is essential. Old fashioned standards of civility are crucial.

So it is done. I know that any of you, had you been privy to the ugly words that were used to provoke this, would agree with me completely.

So, let's once again strive to keep a positive and happy atmosphere on the CR list. We still have a lot to share and enjoy together. I know we are a diverse and neat group of people brought together by common interest in wonderful old bicycles. Let's have fun and put this incident behind us, but perhaps all of us being just a little more attentive to the power of our words. My heartfelt thanks for all the private votes of confidence you all have sent. It means a lot to me.

Very sincerely,
Dale Brown
