Dave

After trying many things to improve the appearance of old paint and maintain the appearance of new paint, we use and sell DriWash. It is a spray on wipe off cleaner/protectant that works very well. It has an uncanny way of preventing the dirt from abrading the finish as it is removed. It has optical brighteners, which really improve the look of weathered paint and leaves behind a protective coating that beads water and prevents new dirt from sticking. Does not contain petroleum distillates that can soften paint or waxes that trap dirt.

Comes in $4, and $24 sizes. Available from independent distributors or from CyclArt. Expensive, but a little goes a long way!

Dri-wash is a mild cleaner on any non porous surface. For metal, especially oxidized metal, I like Simichrome. Also sold here @ $8 per tube.

Of course, one needs to add their own elbow grease.

Hello All.

I recently purchased a 50s Frejus Pista. Its all original with a chrome plated frame and candy blue headtube, panels and cutouts, the decals and badge are all in exceptional condition.

What is the best product to use to preserve and protect the finish? I would like to stay away from any abrasive cleaners or solvents since this may craze the decals or wear out the chrome. I am considering carnuba wax. Any suggestions would be welcome.
   Thanks,
