Bob, I still have the card for, Frans van der Meer at Goudsbloemstraat 156, that I got from a friend. I think his shop is the one in a garage where they work on the bike with it standing on the seat and bars on a dirt floor. I can't think of any shop more "classic." Think of the antithesis of Elliott Bay. Amsterdam isn't really a "classic" bike town, it more utilitrian and there are many of that ilk. Also you might want to check out the Koga-Miyata and RIH factory while your in town. I went to a ton of shops while I was there and the most classic was in Ghent not Amsterdam. I'm sure they are there and my friend Enno whould know where they are but getting a respose from him within the next couple of days would be iffy.
