Hey, Y'all:

I acquired the H. R Morris which was on eBay a few weeks back. Those of you who saw the pix on eBay know that it has very few original components (Milremo seatpost and saddle, and maybe the Edco hs.).

I think it's most likely a cyclocross frame, as it has a fairly steep headtube angle, cantilevers, and no eyelets on the dropouts. BB height with 700c-32 tires is just under 10.5".

I'd like some expert opinion on what period-correct componentry would be for this bike. It's currently fitted with a 7-speed freewheel; if it dates to around 1980, shouldn't it have a 6-speed instead? I'm thinking Mafac cantis, TA crank, but will listen to anyone who knows better than I (Hilary?)

May bring to Cirque.

Thanks,

Chris Beyer
