By the way all, Snap 0n and TopPeak both make a very nice ratcheting box end wrench, 8/10mm, that is THE TICKET for adjustment of these pesky bolts.

Spent a fun 45 minutes installing my first Nuovo Record seat post (the one with the two bolts on top). Discoverd that I had the lower rails reversed, and then after wrestling all the bits into place, discoverd I had the saddle pointing to the rear. Thanks to whoever recommended the Craftsman ratcheting box wrench, it would have taken me twice as long with the Campy tool. I adjusted the tilt by loosening one bolt and tightening the other. Is that correct?

What was the historical significance of the Record post? Was this the first "mircro-adjusting" seatpost, or did other inventors take a whack at the problem? Was it the first (mostly) all alloy post? Was the primary design goal light weight or adjustability? Who developed the first "tighten from the bottom" post?

The post went on my Raleigh Pro, replacing an old Avocet, and the Pro is now one step closer to being "correct". But oh boy, what an un-ergonomic design!
