The Hi-Lo font hub was developed for Liechtenstein team in the 1972 Olympics. The idea was to try to compensate for the interaction of the rotating front wheel and the Coriolis effect due to the Earth's rotation. In the nothern hemisphere, the wheel should be mounted with the high flange on the left side. In the southern hemisphere, the wheel should be mounted with the high flange on the right.
